They can be removed at our discretion for any reason including but not limited to Off Topic posting (including Soundbars) & Misinformation. LG OLED C1 and CX motion interpolation test which one handles. Once again, the Hisense U8G, LG C1, and Samsung QN90A all showed. The U8G is a budget tv that borders on midrange performance. Motion Xcelerator Turbo+, Samsung Health, Expert Calibration, Google Assistant, Game Motion. Except Id kill the person then go home, lol. motion smooth and the U8G couldnt fully deliver. And when watching something like anime, having black frame insertion on medium pared with the motion settings set to 1 or 2 smooths things out a little bit. Moderators reserve the right to remove your post at our discretion. But cinematic motion smooths things out just slightly without introducing any SOA really. ![]() This also includes YouTube links allowed at Mod Discretion (Rtings & HDTVTEST are allowed)įor Amazon Links - ideally Amazon links are in the format - all the extra stuff after those 10 characters are not necessary. An overview can be found at: Hint: it’s not out of fear of burn-in.This subreddit is for news and discussion of OLED displays, OLED lighting, etc. Stores stopped running actual movies and cable channels on their display TVs years ago. There are exactly zero OLEDs, and maybe zero TVs altogether, on display in stores running anything that isn’t highly curated demo images with motion interpolation clearly on. It’s a bit better for 30fps games, at least. Try watching a documentary showing reels from the first half of the 20th century on an OLED and tell me if you can even tell what you’re looking at.īut LED has been relentlessly chasing that low latency since OLED became affordable to the plebs, so while inherently less bad, stutter on midrange LED and above is not far from OLED’s. i set trumotion on cinematic movement and turn it to smooth motion only for newer animated. ![]() Perfect black levels, and contrast/saturation levels are already as good as they can be without professional equipment. The high contrast of OLED with old B&W content isn’t a match made in heaven, let’s leave it at that. My LG C1 is the only TV Ive owned that looked great out of the box and required no color correction whatsoever to the naked eye. It’s acceptable most of the time, but panning shots will be pure torture. The beauty of this blur reduction method is that you dont have to mess with the frame rate of the original source footage. It tricks your brain into perceiving smooth motion instead. For that kind of content your best bet is to turn off everything and suffer some stutter. Black Frame Insertion (BFI) does a great job of defeating eye-tracking motion blur. Problem is, even that slight motion interpolation is terrible for B&W films and for almost any kind of 2D animation. It’s fantastic for movies… IF you turn on some slight motion interpolation, let’s say, 2-3 on your average LG. Seeing people hail OLED as the end-all, be-all of screens is a doozy. It's not many TVs, like maybe 6 in total and all Sony except for 1 or 2 Samsungsfrom 2018 & 2019. If you don't mind 2nd hand then PM me and I can suggest select models from 2016-2019, but would be a miracle if you can get new boxed stock of any of them. LG gets top marks for connectivity, with four HDMI 2. Almost every set that's good for gaming in 2022 is an OLED and thus subpar for 30fps gaming compared to LCD. LG LCDs all have low contrast panels regardless of other spec and Samsung have been rubbish for gaming since 2020, for different reasons. Personally I wouldn't touch many modern LCDs for gaming except that Sony I mentioned above. ![]() The X90K, the 2022 equivalent is better in some ways but worse in others than the 2018 version. My flatmates 2018 Sony XF90 is a nice middle ground between my TV and an OLED so 60fps looks bit clearer. That's with a crazy high response time that causes the pixels to blur together more than most VA-panel LCD TVs. Not something you can buy new, my 2016 Sony ZD9 makes 24fps (for films/TV) and 30fps look as good as it can but even then there will be some stutter past a certain speed of movement.
